		Sales was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 7, 2005, a day before his 79th birthday.
		Sales later had a radio show for several years on WNBC radio in New York, at the same time Howard Stern had an afternoon show on that station.

	Monthly Retail Sales and Inventories: Current Press Release
		The U.S. Census Bureau announced today that the combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for January, adjusted for seasonal and trading-day differences but not for price changes, was estimated at $994.5 billion, up 0.8 percent (±0.3%) from December and up 11.1 percent (±0.4%) from January 2004.
		For retail sales, concurrent seasonal adjustment is also used to adjust the advance estimates (published one month before the preliminary estimates) and the estimates one year before the advance month.
		Revisions to the Retail and Wholesale adjusted and unadjusted monthly estimates for sales and inventories are scheduled for release on March 31, 2005.

		According to the International Council of Shopping Centers, composite same-store sales for American retailers climbed 3.7 percent in January, above the three-percent rise expected by economists.
		January is generally the least-important month for retailers, typically representing less than six percent of a retail firm's annual revenue.
