 RUSSELL v. PRICE, 612 F.2d 1123 (9th Cir. 1979) (LOISLAW)
Shaw died in 1950 and the plaintiffs, except for Janus Films, are current proprietors of the copyright.
Killiam Shows, Inc., successor in interest to the 1926 film's renewal copyright, allowed the film to be shown on educational television without Rohauer's or the daughter's authorization, whereupon the latter two brought a copyright infringement action against Killiam.
Therefore, since exhibition of the film "Pygmalion" necessarily involves exhibition of parts of Shaw's play, which is still copyrighted, plaintiffs here may prevent defendants from renting the film for exhibition without their authorization.

 JBFC Film Series: Bergman
These films highlight his central motifs: angst, fear of death, betrayal, deception, spiritual crisis, psychic disintegration, lost love between husbands and wives, and the often irreconcilable bitterness between parents and children.
In their first true color film together, Bergman and his famed cinematographer Sven Nykvist set out to break all established rules; the result is a vivid, experimental vision of psychological turmoil.
While the film's blissful sensuality seems innocent today, this story of a doomed romantic interlude between two alienated teenagers attracted the wrath of the censors for its naturalistic depiction of premarital procreation.
