Japanese Communist Party - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unlike Communist parties in Europe and elsewhere, it has not suffered an internal crisis as a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union, nor has it considered disbanding or changing its name or fundamental objectives, as many other Communist parties have done.
The JCP sees the United States, transnational corporations and international financial capital as pushing globalization, which, it says, is seriously affecting the global economy, including the monetary and financial problems, as well as North-South and environmental problems.
While the JCP was firmly against the imperial house both during all of the pre-war and most of the post-war era, it has recently said that it is not opposed to the Emperor remaining as Japan's head of state if he has no power and is only a figurehead.

Emperor of Japan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Japanese administrations have usually been in a position where the emperor was something that had to be accepted as a necessary inconvenience - as the Italian government has had to live with the Pope residing within the borders of Italy.
By the 1930s the Japanese cabinet was largely composed of pseudo-fascist military leaders who used the emperor and his supposed divinity as an ultra-nationalistic rallying point for expansion of the Empire.
In part, the Japanese imperial dynasty owes its longevity in the male line to the use of concubines, a practice that only ended in the Taishō period (1912-1926).

The Japanese Communist Party (JCP) (日本共産党), founded on July 15, 1922, as an underground political association, is a political party of Japan based on scientific socialism.
Outlawed from the outset of its founding, the JCP was subjected to repression and persecution by the military and police of Imperial Japan.
However, from 1950-1955, as repression by the U.S. occupation forces swept Japan, the JCP was forced to split by a group connected with the Soviet Union and China.

Abstract: A case study of the development of the Japanese Communist movement in relation to Japanese society, with particular emphasis on the period since 1945 and on the reasons why the Japanese Communist Party is not today a significant political force.
The study examines the ideological and programmatic evolution of the party, its organizational and socio-economic structure; its functional operations as related to other political forces in Japan, particularly the forces of the left; and its changing attitudes toward the United States, the Soviet Union, and Communist China.
It is concluded that the critical issue is whether the party can achieve a united front with the more powerful forces of the Japanese Socialist left and thus exert pressures to shape futurepolitical issues and tactics.
