Jaring plans to use Soma’s fixed wireless system to bring broadband access and voice-over-Internet Protocol services to major cities in Malaysia by 2005.
Jaring plans to offer broadband wireless services to more than 100,000 Malaysian customers in its first stage of deployment, expanding to 500,000 customers over the next four years.
Jaring currently has nearly 800,000 dial-up Internet subscribers, and it hopes to gain broadband wireless subscribers from this existing customer base, according to Greg Caltabiano, chief operating officer at Soma Networks.

It is claimed that the Finance Ministry, which runs Jaring, instigated the talks.

People do not generally know how this service take-off, how to subscribe, where to get, what is the technology look alike, the advancement and so on.
