Topic: Jason 1

  Pelias 1, Greek Mythology Link.
Jason came to the sacrifice, but in crossing the river Anaurus in Thessaly (or the Evenus in Aetolia) he lost a sandal in the stream and appeared with only one.
Apparently, Jason and Medea could not be charged with murder (for the girls had killed their own father), but as instigators they suffered the rather lenient punishment of exile, being expelled from Iolcus by Acastus, son of Pelias 1.
Pelias 2 is son of Aeginetes 1, son of Dereites, son of Harpalus 1, son of Amyclas 1, son of Lacedaemon, son of Zeus and Taygete.

 Jason, Greek Mythology Link.
Jason's father Aeson was himself the son of Cretheus 1, the founder of Iolcus, a city in Thessaly on the coast of the Gulf of Pagasae.
This is why Jason, eager to build up a brilliant future for himself and his children, forgot all his promises and decided to get rid of her lawful wife and benefactress, by marrying the younger princess Glauce 4, daughter of King Creon 3 of Corinth.
Alcimede 1 was the daughter of Clymene 3, either by Phylacus 1 or Cephalus 1, both sons of Deion, son of Aeolus 1.

Jason 1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jason 1 satellite altimeter is a science project to measure the ocean surface topography, and the successor to the TOPEX/Poseidon satellite.
During the first months Jason 1 shared an almost identical orbit to TOPEX which allowing for cross calibration.
At the end of this period TOPEX was moved to a new orbit midway between each Jason ground track.

For the JASON orbit campaign all available solutions are pairwise compared by computing the difference vectors in 1441 sample points per day.
This corresponds to a sample interval at 1 minute, including the final vector which is equal to the first vector of the next day.
For the JASON campaign comparisons the 0.1 mm truncation error can be considered as acceptable, although it would be good to have a resolution that was just one order of magnitude more precise.

(1) Jason was the host of Paul during his stay in Thessalonica, and, during the uproar organized by the Jews, who were moved to jealousy by the success of Paul and Silas, he and several other "brethren" were severely handled by the mob.
When the mob failed to find Paul and Silas, they dragged Jason and "certain brethren" before the politarchs, accusing Jason of treason in receiving into his house those who said "There is another king, one Jesus." The magistrates, being troubled, took security from them, and let them go.

Jason 1's oceanography mission to monitor global climate interactions between the sea and atmosphere reached another major milestone this past week with the successful handover of day-to-day operations from the French Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
With the handover, JPL is now responsible for around-the-clock real-time monitoring of Jason 1's health and status, and for generating and uploading weekly stored command sequences to the spacecraft.
The French Space Agency managed Jason 1 satellite development, engineering and delivery from the French aerospace company Alcatel, so the program's early post-launch checkout phases were conducted by the French.

The objective is to provide a collaborative mechanism for ongoing altimeter calibration by use of either dedicated calibration sites and/or with the use of the global tide gauge network.
This topic clearly addresses the major motivation for the Jason series, whereby the historical 'global' sea level data compiled by the PSMSL will eventually be enhanced by truly global altimetric estimates of sea level change (Warrick et al., 1996).
The approved POL/Liverpool Department of Earth Sciences set of proposals submitted to NASA and CNES under the Jason Announcement of Opportunity describes a number of other regional activities which can be regarded as contributing to Jason CALVAL.
