Jason Gardener has been officially cleared of making a false start during the 60m at the Norwich Union Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham last Sunday.
Gardener was actually the fourth sprinter to rise from the blocks, but was given the false start because his time was the first to show on the computer.
His first indoor defeat to a fellow European in three years cost Gardener £910 in prize money, but he is unlikely to receive any compensation.

Sprinter Jason Gardener is hoping to make his comeback from injury at the European Cup in Malaga on 28-29 June.
Gardener returned to action in the Golden League meeting in Oslo at the start of June but the injury flared up again and he failed to make it through the heats.
And he is aiming to stake a claim for a place at the European Championships in August.

Thanks to advice such as this, Gardener and coach Malcolm Arnold were able to make the decision that he should not attend warm weather training in Lanzarote recently in order to stay back with his support team.
Chris Price who works for Bath University on behalf of the EIS, also believes Gardener's recent success – he is now ranked third of the 60m sprinters entered for the final this weekend - proves the support network is working.
Gardener is adamant that the support network he has in place is working.  Along with using EIS staff, he also works with UK Athletics Doctor, Bryan English, physiotherapist Dean Kenneally, and nutritionist Jacqueline Boreman.

no offense to jason but i just dont think he has what it takes to run under 6.39 he looked flat out when he run 6.46 mo on the other hand has something to prove this year.
And Gardener could be there this weekend, but is instead at 55m in Glasgow.
