Topic: Jason Schwartzmann

Jason Schwartzman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jason Francesco Schwartzman (born June 26, 1980) is an American actor.
Schwartzman received his groundbreaking role in Rushmore when the casting director (who was a friend of his cousin, director Sofia Coppola) mentioned having trouble casting the role of "Max." Jason was recommended by Sofia due to his love of older women and his precocious nature.
Jason was also the recorded voice of Julius the Monkey for the fashion brand Paul Frank.

I thought Claire Danes was perfect, and even though she didn't have as much material to work with as she could have, she embodied everything about the character that was in the book, even the stuff left out.
Jason Schwartzman was fantastic as well, and Steve Martin worked better than I thought he would.
Jason Scharzman was sublime as the comic relief.

Jason Schwartzmann (Talia Shire's real life son) stars as Max Fischer, a 16 year old attending Rushmore Academy.
Though Max is involved in every single club on campus, his grades are terrible and he is on the verge of being removed from the school.
Jason Schwartzmann is flawless as Max, and Bill Murray gives the best performance of his career as Herman Blume.

The nerdy flmailer Ethan (Jason Schwartzman) is desperately in love with a seemingly regular girl in his physics class.
The cheaters, Dave (Devon Sawa), Sam (Jason Segel) and Jeff (Michael C. Maronna), also known as the "slackers," have managed to pass through college by a series of elaborate schemes and frauds.

wildcat: Shocking new career path taken! News at 11.
There were definitely weak moments - Schwartzmann's acting at times felt a bit flat, and there were points in the film where - I don't know - the tone felt off.
There was some wonderful moments where everybody's just talking-talking-talking and it built up that rhythm even in the face of meaninglessness, but it kind of broke down and didn't gel for me. At the same time, it's illustrating it's point (or one of its points, or something masquerading as its point).
The search for meaning and the search for meaninglessness worked very well, and I think for the moment the scene where Schwartzmann's mother and father are brought in and exposed for who they were and their part in their son's life?

One of the few non-rich boys at the school is Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzmann), who is a scholarship student and the son of a barber (although he tells people he's the son of a brain surgeon).
Schwartzmann, a member of the Coppola clan, is convincing in his first movie role.
My only complaint here is that it is too obvious that the commentators recorded their tracks separately, which meant there was no interaction.

Jason Schwartzmann gets some nice, natural laughs with his goofiness in the first half hour, but his character's evolution stretches credulity.
Steve Martin's character, not played for laughs at any point, is something of a cipher - his motivation for the relationship with the girl goes unexplained.
The Jason character going for the Claire character was a slam-dunk he-should-be-that-lucky scenario.

Some films have a plot but no story, like "The Rock", where Stanley Godspeed attempts to stop a terrorist and grow up, or "the Killer", in which an assassin seeks redemption for injuring a beautiful woman.
David O'Russell, coming off "Three Kings", has apparently been hunkering down the past few years over a number of philosophical texts and found himself both distanced and intrigued by the power of such thoughts, to the point where "Huckabee's" is something of a reverent spoof of these values.
Jason Schwartzmann turns in a believable, wonderfully confused turn in the lead.

To properly relate to this rather anemic film, it might also help if you have been an addict yourself, and to really love this film, it might even require you to be sky high at the time you view it.
Most of the action follows Jason Schwartzman as Ross, a meth addict looking to score a fix from dealer Spider Mike (Leguizamo).
Things don't proceed according to plan, and Ross ends up playing chauffer for another addict, Nikki (Murphy), who is a main squeeze of "The Cook" (Rourke), who runs his own meth lab from his apartment.

 indieville: film review: slackers
Slackers follows the antics of a group of college test-cheaters who get caught in the act by Ethan (Jason Schwartzmann), a disgruntled co-student.
Ethan, the over-exaggerated geek, is possibly the film's biggest asset; despite the stupidity of the act, Schwartzmann plays the character surprisingly well, in all his slapstick lunacy.
In the end, of course, it comes to a big confrontation scene where Ethan spills the beans about Dave and the fact that he and his friends collected a bunch of information about her behind her back (including breaking in to her dorm and stealing her e-mails!), and things look bad for our fabled slacker.

For me it was Russell doing Wes Anderson, although to be fair, it could be the presence of Jascon Schwartzmann in the lead role that leads me to that conclusion (although the existential, dark humor helped as well).
A scene with her bringing Albert to confront his mother (played by Schwartzmann's real-life mom Talia Shire) is hysterical.
"Jason Schwartzman is nearly inept in his role which weakens the film since he is the pivotal character.

the rest of the cast was decent and kind of not right like Jason Schwartzmann was not a good choice for lead and that American Beauty will never be anything but American beauty chick to me...
but the sock-cock on Leguizamo is based on a cast in-joke that Jason Schwartzmann physically and humor-wise reminds most of them of the dude in American Pie who whacked it in a sock...
It was also interesting when after seeing all these dead beat characters that when a healthy person (Amy) is shown, she looks overly beautiful because she is so much healthier then they are.

Well, I can say that the ending of this movie was predictable, but the build-up to it, the acting and the finesse with which the special effects were implemented (voices going in and out of focus, characters in fast forward, teeth grinding) had me SPUN from beginning to end.
Though Brittany Murphy gets most of the cover, the story is really about Ross (Jason Schwartzmann), a part of a screwed-up extended family that are all hooked on methamphetamines, including secondhand dealer Spider Mike (John Leguizamo), spaced-out game geek Frisbee (Patrick Fugit), and others.
While there are endless examples, to me the most memorable is that of Jason Schwartzman holding up his little plastic bag of speed to settle its contents.

Billed as an “existential comedy”, the movie centers around a guy named Albert (Jason Schwartzmann), who experiences a series of strange coincidences in his life and wonders about their significance.
Why, the answers to all the big questions of course.Through them, Albert also meets a fireman named Tommy (Mark Wahlberg) whose wife is leaving him because of his constant preoccupation with the deeper meaning of life (not to mention his obsession with the world’s petroleum crisis).

Its a kind of humour that won't appeal to everyone - some will really get into (personally I did), film purists will scream out cries of "unsympathetic characters" (get a life boys), but others will just not find it funny which is understandable (comedy is very subjective after all).
Acting wise Schwartzmann steals the film, while lacking a lot of the great subtlety of "Rushmore", the character is perfectly disgusting and he milks it for all its worth.

While that mission may not seem worthy of a critical nod, Rewind + Record is the album where Woolford went headlong into accessible stadium rock-indie cred be damned-and crafted one of the most memorable pop/rock records of the year.
Picking up guilty pleasures along the way-like a melody line from Billy Joel's "A Matter of Trust" or a Journey-esque guitar solo-and then having Jason Livermore layer it all with his trademark sheen, The Stereo made a big, bright pop/rock album for the masses.
Sure, it's easy to point out that the band members are all well-connected Hollywood insiders, with Jason Schwartzmann a bona fide star and lead singer Alex Greenwald an actual Gap model, but that stuff doesn't matter nearly as much as this irrepressibly sunny collection of modern guitar-pop.
