"Jaws" is definitely one of those movies, that is thanks to the amazing cast and the crew the classic masterpiece that it is today.
Mark my words, "Jaws" is a movie that will never be considered outdated.
Probably my favorite thing about the movie would be the dialogue, they are very raw and performed well by the perfect cast.

  Jaws DVD review on AudioRevolution.com
The documentary on the making of the movie -- and it was famously hard to make -- is twice as long on the laserdisc, and there were more deleted scenes.
And, of course, the movie itself remains, presented in an excellent print in DTS 5.1 surround.
'Jaws' was a world-wide smash hit, instantly establishing Spielberg (who'd made only one previous theatrical film) as a major director, creating a franchise, and helping turn Dreyfuss into a major star.

Jaws (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jaws is regarded as a watershed film in motion picture history, as it is the father of the summer blockbuster movie and one of the first "high concept" films.
Jaws was a key film in establishing the benefits of a wide national release backed by heavy media advertising, rather than a progressive release that let a film slowly enter new markets and build support over a period of time.
Jaws: The Revenge, directed by Joseph Sargent, featured the return of Lorraine Gary, and is considered one of the worst movies ever made, with a rank in the worst 50 on the Internet Movie Database's Bottom 100.

Jaws: A Movie Review by Jack Moore   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Jaws is one of the most important films in cinematic history, both for making box office records a relevant thing to put in the papers, and for putting Spielberg on the map.
Viewers weren't afraid of the ocean after seeing Jaws because they actually believed there to be sharks out there; the shark merely unlocked the mystery of the ocean as a giant abyss of unknown dangers.
Quint is probably the most memorable character in Jaws, a modern day Captain Ahab who drinks to "swimmin' with bowlegged women." People remember his sneer, his crazy sailor songs that often flicker with hint of dementia, and that rather famous scene in which he explicitly describes his experience aboard the S.S. Indianapolis.

Both pictures save their "monsters" for near the end (though in Jaws this was a case of necessity forcing the filmmakers' hand, as the temperamental shark proved uncooperative through most of the shoot).
Amity is a living, breathing community populated by stubborn old Yankees, karate-chopping juvenile delinquents, and slumming "summer dinks." You can smell the salt in the air, feel the sand in your shoes and hear the clashing static-riddled signals from dueling AM radios at the beach.
The finest moment in Jaws is also the quietest, and it's all Shaw - Quint's monologue recounting the events of June 29, 1945, when the U.S.S. Indianapolis was sunk by Japanese torpedoes and much of its crew devoured by sharks.

Jaws isn't only the first shark with the ability to stand on its tail out of the water for 10-second intervals, he's the first shark who's learned the intricate tricks of the inter-dimensional travel trade.
Aside from being between 30-40' long, this Jaws is able to survive out of water for extended periods of time, is an accomplished gymnast, and is able to eat entire chunks of the boat with ease.

Yes, Jaws: The Revenge is spectacularly special in all the wrong ways, making this a perfectly dreadful fourth film in a series that had already lost most of its juice long before this sucker swam to the surface.
Second of all throughout the whole movie the shark is "supposibly" trying to track down the Brody family and trying to eat every one of them like it did to one of Brodys sons in the first scence of the movie.
And throughout the whole movie Brodys wife some how has some sort of psychic ability to know if the shark is close or something bad is happening that has to do with the shark its a know doubt one 100% quality corny movie.

Jaws Movie Review at Hollywood Video
Jaws, the mother of all summer blockbusters, debuts on DVD this month, celebrating a quarter century of scaring the bejeezus out of countless swimmers since its spectacular first release on June 20, 1975.
Spielberg opens the feature by remembering, "When I first hear the word 'Jaws,' I think of a period in my life when I was much younger than I am right now, and I think, because I was younger, I was more courageous or I was more stupid — I'm not sure which.

 Jaws | Retro Junk
Movie Plot:In the vastly overrated 1998 book Easy Riders, Raging Bulls, author Peter Biskind puts the blame for Hollywood's blockbuster mentality at least partially on Steven Spielberg's box-office success with this adaptation of Peter Benchley's bestselling novel.
But you can't blame Spielberg for making a terrific movie, which Jaws definitely is. The story of a Long Island town whose summer tourist business is suddenly threatened by great-white-shark attacks on humans bypasses the potboiler trappings of Benchley's book and goes straight for the jugular.
With beautifully crafted, crowd-pleasing sequences of action and suspense supported by a trio of terrific performances by Roy Scheider (as the local sheriff), Richard Dreyfuss (as a shark specialist), and particularly Robert Shaw (as the weathered fisherman who offers to hunt the shark down for 3000 bucks).

Jaws (Widescreen 30th Anniversary Edition) (1975)
The era of the modern blockbuster didn’t arrive with Star Wars in the summer of 1977, but actually a few years earlier with this Steven Spielberg-directed movie about a giant shark terrorising a small coastal community (as if you needed to be told that).
The movie became a pop cultural phenomenon and forever changed the way Hollywood movies are made.
Sure, the movie threw out some of the novel’s human subplots, especially those involving an adulterous affair between the Oceanographer character (played in the movie by Richard Dreyfus) and the Chief of Police’s wife, but this is all for the better ultimately.

"Jaws" is the landmark creature feature that terrified movie audiences in 1975, preventing them from entering the surf and affecting swimming patterns for years.
Three sequels followed "Jaws 2" (1978), "Jaws 3-D" (1983) and "Jaws The Revenge" (1987), but the original is still undoubtedly the best, it is Steven Spielberg's masterpiece.
