This island's JawsFest '05 also brought back some of the cast and crew, including screenwriter Carl Gottlieb and Peter Benchley, who wrote the novel that inspired Steven Spielberg's enduring classic.
Spielberg and the movie's best-known stars, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss, were absent from Jawsfest '05.

I stayed away from the water throughout the summer.
Well, for those who also have vivid Jaws memories or those like the dude in this story who are a bit too fanatical about the whole affair, you will be interested to hear that Jawsfest is happening this weekend in the very place it was filmed: Marthas Vinyard.
Cast members from the film will be there, as will fans and folk doing their best to capitalize on all the poor kids like myself who were afraid to go back in the water.
