I think he's done an awesome job at Gonzaga; everything I've read says that he has no interest in leaving, but you have to wonder if that would really hold up if he was offered an A-level job like Indiana.
This is an awesome opportunity for any coach, but if you're coaching a school roughly the size of Indiana, you'd probably have to be a consistent winner to be considered; and if you're that, isn't it smarter to stay there?
Still, not to be forgotten is that Alford was overwhelmingly successful at every stop until he reached Iowa, and it's not inconceivable that he was just hired there before he was ready, and got kind of blindsided by the pressures of big-time recruiting and dealing with spoiled stars.
