  Jayadeva Summary
Jayadeva is a name that the poet shares with Kṛṣṇa, the divine hero of his poem, whom he invokes in a song with the refrain "Jaya jayadeva hare" ("Triumph, God of Triumph, Hare!").
In the process of composing the poem, Jayadeva conceived the climax of Kṛṣṇa's supplication to Rādhā as a command for her to place her foot on Kṛṣṇa's head in a symbolic gesture of victory.
Jayadeva Goswami was a composer of Hindu hymns and poetic works, including especially the Sanskrit work, the Gita Govinda, a now-famous work on the divine love of the Hindu god Krishna.

 Jayadeva Goswami
Sri Jayadeva Goswami was the court pandit of Sri Lakshman Sena, the King of Bengal.
Krishna picked up Jayadeva's pen and wrote the verse with the line "dehi padapallava-mudaram," wherein it says "Krishna bows down his head to the lotus feet of Sri Radha." With this Krishna, disguised as Jayadeva, sat down and took the prasadam prepared by Padmavati.
When she told Jayadeva what had just happened, Jayadeva was astonished.

  Jayadeva writes Gita-Govinda
Jayadeva established the worship of a Narayan deity and in the waves of love which he felt for this deity, he began writing Gita-Govinda, with its incomparable ambrosia.
It is said that though Jayadeva is responsible for all the moods and sentiments which appear in the Gita-Govinda, he had some reticence about writing that Krishna fell down at Radharani’s feet to beg her forgiveness when she was angry with him for having deceived her.
I am beginning to wonder who that was and who you are?" Jayadeva was clever enough to guess what had happened and he went and looked at his unfinished text and saw the words that the Lord himself had written.

 Jayadeva : Poems and Biography
Jayadeva's Gitagovinda is quite passionately erotic, but it is also considered a highly spiritual work, sung daily in many Indian temples dedicated to Krishna.
Little can be said with historical certainty about the life of Jayadeva, though legend suggests that he was born into a Brahman family and educated in literature and sacred texts before he abandoned scholarship for the life of a sadhu, a wandering ascetic.
Jayadeva's name can be translated as "God triumphs" and he often plays with this meaning in his poetry.
