Air Canada Jazz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jazz Air LP (Air Canada Jazz) is an airline based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Air Canada Jazz was established in 2001 from the consolidation of the Air Canada connector carriers Air BC, Air Nova, Air Ontario and Canadian Regional Airlines shortly after the successful takeover of Canadian Airlines by ACE Holdings.
The switch to Jazz service means the elimination of Air Canada jet flights to Charlottetown, Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Quebec, Regina, Saskatoon, Thunder Bay, and Whitehorse.

Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The normal airline configuration is 2+2 seating in rows 1 through 12, and 2+0 in row 13, with the lavatory compartment taking up the aft-right portion of the cabin.
Comair and Atlantic Southeast Airlines also operate a 40 seat variant, which has seating rows 1, 2 and 13 removed and wardrobe closet fillers in their place.
These modifications are designed to allow operations under their major airline contract "scope clause" which restricts major airlines' feeder carriers from operating equipment carrying 50 or more passengers, to guard against usurpation of Air Line Pilots Association and Allied Pilots Association pilots' union contract rights.

 Definitions of Style - Jazz
Jazz, wide-ranging in its embrace, can encompass genres that range from some ragtime to the pop-inflected radio hits of George Benson and the improvised atonal experiments of Cecil Taylor.
As with all living art forms, the borders of jazz are continually blurred as successive generations of musicians adapt its conventions to contemporary artistic trends.
Later in the 1960s, jazz adopted new elements, including electric instruments, long song forms, and a dialogue between jazz and pop music that continued through the 1970s in the style known as fusion.

Joe D'Cruz, an airline analyst from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, thinks it's difficult right now to gauge the effect of Jazz's potential sale on REGCO's potential airline.
"If Jazz is sold to an entrepreneurial manager, then the way it operates could change quite significantly." To make the airline profitable, he says, a wholesale renegotiation of Jazz's labour contracts would be necessary to address its $90 million in annual losses.
Jazz is only valuable as a feeder carrier for Air Canada's main routes, he says, and so has little value to anyone other than Air Canada.
