		I personally believe that Guru's Jazzmatazz was the most slept on album of the year.
		An album which seems to have been ignored by the commerical masses in 2000 was this all-star album by Guru.
		The third in the groundbreaking Jazzmatazz series', the part-time GangStarr member has created on this album an impressive hiphop-jazz fusion, with his rapping intertwined with the vocal stylings of a number of considerably high-profile guests.

		Jazzmatazz, an experimental fusion of hip-hop and live jazz, is one of the first full-fledged attempts to fuse rap and jazz.
		Jazzmatazz captures the essence of both styles, neither is dominating, rendering both jazz and rap as uniquely resolute and, importantly, undiluted.

		As half of the pioneering duo Gang Starr, Guru can count himself among a select handful of innovators (DJ Jazzy Jeff, Stetsasonic, Native Tongues) who in the late '80s introduced jazz's tonal complexity into the hip-hop universe.
