  Jean Balue
In 1465 he received the bishopric of Evreux[?]; the king made him le premier du grant cimseil, and, in spite of his dissolute life, obtained for him a cardinalate (1468).
But in that year Balue was compromised in the king’s humiliation by Charles the Bold at Péronne[?] and excluded from the council.
He then intrigued with Charles against his master: their secret correspondence was intercepted, arid on the 23rd of April 1469 Balue was thrown into prison, where he remained eleven years, but not, as has been alleged, in an iron cage.

 Jean Balue
In 1464, Louis XI made him his almoner; the same year, Balue received the Abbeys of Fécamp and Saint-Thierri (Reims) and in 1465, that of Saint-Jean-d'Angély, two priories, and the Bishopric of Evreux.
Balue went to Rome with the cardinal, was restored to all his rights and dignities (1482) and was named Bishop of Albano (1483).
Balue succeeded, moreover, in securing, besides several benefices, the nomination as Protector of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem and Guardian to Prince Djem, brother of the Sultan of Turkey.

 Louis XI
Discharged officers of Charles VII like Jean Dunois and John II duke of Bourbon stirred up hostility to the new men of the king, and Francis II duke of Brittany was soon embroiled with Louis over an attempt to assert royal control over that practically independent duchy.
Balue thereupon joined Guillaume de Harancourt, bishop of Verdun, in an intrigue to induce Charles of France to demand Champagne and Brie in accordance with the king's promise to Charles the Bold, instead of distant Guienne where the king was determined to place him.
Balue spent eleven years in prison quarters, comfortable enough, in spite of the legend to the contrary, while Harancourt was shut up in an iron cage until 1482.

The French Royal Family: Titles and Customs
The wives of all three sons were implicated, to varying degrees, in an adultery scandal in the early 1300s (the scandal of the tower of Nesles), which cast strong doubts over the legitimacy of their offspring, in particular, Jeanne, only daughter of Louis.
Jean became king in 1350, and in turn gave Normandy to his eldest son Charles in 1355.
The title of Dauphin was bestowed on the eldest son of the king, reverting to the crown upon accession; the future Louis XI was the last dauphin to actually rule over the Dauphiné, until 1461.

Blue Jean - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Loosely inspired by Eddie Cochran, the song was an uncomplicated composition, recalling earlier Bowie rockers such as “The Jean Genie”, and is generally regarded as the best part of a disappointing album.
“Blue Jean” was a hit in the UK and America, reaching #6 and #8 respectively.
In some quarters this was seen as something of a disappointment compared to the success of the Let's Dance singles, and was the first hint of the long-term commercial failure of Tonight.
