Tewksbury company's quarterly earnings off 22 - The Boston Globe
Massachusetts Secretary of State William F. Galvin issued a subpoena for McKinsey and Co. general counsel Jean Molino as part of his investigation into Procter and Gamble's proposed $57 billion acquisition of Gillette.
McKinsey, a consulting firm, conducted analyses on the value of revenue gains and cost reductions resulting from the acquisition.
In the subpoena, Galvin ordered Molino to turn over all documents McKinsey prepared for PandG in connection with the merger and to identify personnel from Goldman Sachs Group and UBS AG that were provided these documents in their role as advisers to Gillette in connection with the acquisition.

Music   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
It is said to be an art, or form of entertainment, it is also called total social fact by Jean Molino (1975: 37), it is also often defined by contrast contrasted with noise or speech.
Molino (1975: 43) argues that,in addition to a lack of consensus, also points out that "any element belonging to the total musical fact can be isolated, or taken as a strategic variable of musical production." Nattiez gives as examples Mauricio Kagel's Con Voce [with voice], where a masked trio silently mimes playing instruments.
In this example sound, a common element, is excluded, while gesture, a less common element, is given primacy.

 SoundMagic FX - Dissertation
Jean-Jacques Nattiez and Jean Molino, both generally regarded as having largely developed this train of thought, explain the semiological model of musical discourse as a holistic description of the processes that make up the physical states of a musical work, its creation and its perception.
For this reason Molino preferred the term 'the total musical fact' over 'work', which usually connotes a single physical state of the work, ignoring the aspects of composition, performance and listening.
By seeing music as essentially a symbolic form, Molino integrates the inherent relationships into a model of musical discourse which can be viewed in three parts, which he labels the poietic, the neutral, and the esthesic.

Music - Bvio   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Music, often an art/entertainment, is a total social fact whose definitions vary according to era and culture," according to Jean Molino (1975: 37), often contrasted with noise.
However, in addition to a lack of consensus, Molino (1975: 43) also points out that "any element belonging to the total musical fact can be isolated, or taken as a strategic variable of musical production." Nattiez gives as examples Mauricio Kagel's ''Con Voce'' [with voice], where a masked trio silently mimes playing instruments.
Given the above demonstration that "there is no limit to the number or the genre of variables that might intervene in a definition of the musical," (Molino 1987: 42) an organization of definitions and elements is necessary.

The material for that study consists of video documentation of a collaboration between Stefan Östersjö and composer Love Mangs, as well as versions of notation of a certain passage in a piece for harp and computer by Henrik Frisk.
The theoretical framework for these empirical studies is presented in detail and the reasons for choosing - and the experiences of using - a semiological terminology based on the work of Jean-Jacues Nattiez and Jean Molino is discussed.
By using Molino’s and Nattiez’ terminology for a semiological analysis of music we attempt at describing the interplay in terms of poietic and esthesic processes and with a semiotic terminology in general.

 Lamarckism Summary
The ideas of naturalist and systematist Jean Baptiste de Lamarck (1744-1829) influenced the notions surrounding evolution and also sparked social Lamarckism, which developed years after his death.
He was also responsible for making a respectable field out of the study of invertebrates.
When the researchers mated the yeast cells with cells not containing the prion, the trait reappeared in some of the resulting offspring, indicating that some genetic information indeed changed and thus was passed down.
