Topic: Jean Pierre Bercot

  Filmfestivals . com - Cannes 2001
Clément is Bercot's first feature and promises to further explore the subjects and characters evident in her short films: adolescence, family traumas and the unbridled nature of sexual desire.
Whereas in La Puce, Bercot explored the story of 14-year-old girl's first sexual experiences with an older man, in Clément she reverses the gender equation.
Bercot's film is evidently one of this series of productions deemed cinematically strong enough to travel from the small to the large screen.

Emmanuelle Bercot’s feature directorial debut follows the illustrious path of her career as an actor, as well as a director of non-theatrical and short films that have garnered awards and praise.
Bercot here shows us the dark, disturbing side of celebrity worship, with a sharp sense for what goes through the mind of a teenager enthralled by larger-than-life images of fame and success.
Bercot stirs this premise into a troubling look at stardom and the world that travels in its wake: publicists, managers, producers, guards and, in Lucie’s case, fanatical groupies.
