Ripoux contre ripoux (Le Cop 2)
Distribution: Philippe Noiret (René Lesbuch), Thierry Lhermitte (François), Guy Marchand (Guy Brisson), Jean-Pierre Castaldi (Jean-Pierre Portal), Grace de Capitani (Natacha), Line Renaud (Simone), Michel Aumont (Bloret), Jean-Claude Brialy (Le banquier), Jean Benguigui (Cesarini), Christian Bouillette (Le bijoutier), Roger Jendly (Albert Le Fourgue), Georges Montillier (Le marchand de fringues), René Morard (Fernand), Alain Mottet (Le préfet)
Noiret and Lhermitte are both respectable actors in their own right but together they excel, making a very effective team as René and François; René’s half-hearted cynicism complement beautifully François’ flawed idealism.
Both films satirise perceived corruption in the French police service, with Noiret and Lhermitte playing a pair of lovable rogues, under the skilful direction of Claude Zidi.

Jean Robert Borotra, 1976 Enshrinee: International Tennis Hall of Fame
In many ways, Jean Robert Borotra fit the image of the cosmopolitan Frenchman: a spectacular, debonair personality, a gallant kissing ladies' fingertips, a host of elegant parties aboard the Ile de France or at his fashionable residence in Paris.
Borotra was named to France's Davis Cup team in 1922, and in 1923 he assembled with René Lacoste, Henri Cochet, and Jacques Brugnon, a great doubles player, to form the Four Musketeers.
Borotra, a right-hander (6-foot-1, 160), was spectacular, too, on the tennis court in the 1920s and early '30s.

 History - Jean Berger
At the time Jean Berger made and reported his seminal observations he was working as a pathologist in Paris at Hôpital Necker, and was also Professor at the Université René Descartes.
Berger applied the technique to renal biopsies and recognised that there was a group of patients, not properly defined before, in whom the dominant finding was the deposition of IgA in the glomerular mesangium.
With these observations, Berger established a new understanding of these common groups of patients with glomerulonephritis, and it soon became clear that IgA nephropathy was the commonest pattern of glomerulonephritis found wherever renal biopsy was widely practiced.

A "flabbergasted, but pleased" Lesage declined the offer, deciding instead to run in the next Quebec election, which he did and lost, opening the door to a more nationalistic Daniel Johnson, a split in the Liberal Party ranks, and the birth of the René Lévesque-led PQ.
