 Sino-French trading ties strengthened
Germain, the president of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, made the prediction in an exclusive interview with China Daily, in which he said the world's most populous nation was becoming all the more "magnetic" to French investors.
Germain, also the chief representative for China of PSA Peugeot Citroen, feels that import tariffs on cars and car components remains a little high, although they will be reduced to 25 per cent by the end of 2005 under the nation's WTO commitments.
Germain's confidence in a brighter economic future is partly based on the warm political climate between the two countries.

 Philips takes on Chinese challenges
Jean Claude Germain, chief representative of the French giant PSA Peugeot Citron in China, has been working in the country for a decade and that has led him to a conclusion: The biggest challenge to doing business in China is learning how to cope with regional differences.
Not only is the size of the market huge and the demands of customers diversified, he says, but the policies in different parts in the country can also differ greatly, especially when it comes to foreign investment.

 Landrys of Acadia
The name of Marie Sale', age 86, appears in the 1686 Census of Acadia living with her son "Rene." This is somewhat based on the information obtained in the 1686 census where Marie Sale' (widow of Jean Claude) is shown residing next door to Rene Landry and beyond Rene's oldest son, Antoine.
This prompted a series of errors, one of which was to create a fictious Jean-Claude Landry, because Marie Sale' is said to be the widow of Jean Claude, who is in fact believed to have been a Micmac Indian.
NOWHERE in any census or other documents is there to be found an Acadian by the name Jean-Claude Landry."

 Germain, Jean-Claude

In the crowd was Jean-Claude Germain, a 25-year-old farmer who said he "had to watch everything I love and own washed away by the waters, but I never even saw my children being taken." He lost two sons and two daughters along with his sister-in-law and her two children.
The waters swept away the wife of Ivse Toussaint, 35, and all his six children, aged 2-16.
The Creole-speaking Haitians did not understand, but got the tone and held off.

 Dave veut jouer Richard III
Québec has been represented in a variety of ways, from a giant wooden horse in Jean-Claude Germain’s Rodéo et Juliette (1970) to an impotent king surrounded by a monetarily, sexually and scatologically obsessed younger generation in Jean-Pierre Ronfard’s carnivalesque Lear (1977).
Since 1968, when in Robert Gurik’s parody Hamlet became a prince of a Québec longing to be free of a federalist Canada, Shakespearean adaptation has been a medium for staging the Québécois, as opposed to the Canadian, body politic.
