EarthBound - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
EarthBound breaks the escapist, fantasy-oriented tendencies and themes of most RPGs by placing the action in a modern day world, much like Shin Megami Tensei but without the dark overtones of that series.
One of the most unusual elements of EarthBound may be the fourth-wall-breaking inclusion of the player as an active participant within the story itself, which is in great contrast to the plots of other console RPGs that usually never reference the player behind the controller, let alone incorporate him or her into the story.
EarthBound follows the same basic plot as its predecessor, but Giygas ("Gyiyg" in the Japanese version) is the only returning character.

It also seems reasonable that, if such entities are indeed earthbound, they may from time to time interact with the living in a variety of ways.
The church’s response has been to pray for the deceased, conduct masses for the dead, perform last rites, and include usually the sacrament of reconciliation and communion (which is understood as food for the journey).
The possibility of earthbound out-of-body entities attaching themselves to living beings would seem plausible, but would not be a necessary condition for proving reincarnation.

dOc DVD Review: The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human (1999) - Printable
The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human could have easily been just another dull, clichéd comedy about relationships, but it is irresistibly charming thanks to its witty and humorous style.
Earthbound Human takes the concept of these nature shows and applies it to the mating rituals of human beings.
With an arsenal of witty observations that include a "rational" explanation for oral sex and a tutorial on why it is a bad idea for the female to "emit an odor" in order to alert the male that she is ready to mate, the narrator's commentary is consistently fresh, entertaining, and almost always hysterical.

The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human offers a clear lesson in why so many independent movies end up stacked on basement floors instead of showing in theaters.
The story purports to be an alien’s view of human romance, through an utterly commonplace romance between two boring, shallow people.
But writer-director Jeff Abugov, who has a long history writing and producing for television (Roseanne, Grace Under Fire, Golden Girls, Cheers), never crafts a character for her to play.
