 Muddy Waters
Many musical artists have credited Waters as a major influence on their careers, including Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Peter Green, and the Rolling Stones.
Muddy Waters is credited as the patriarch of post-World War II Chicago blues and provided a link between deep Mississippi Delta blues and the hard-edged, urban and electric Chicago blues.
In his From the Cradle album, Eric Clapton paid tribute to Muddy Waters, "His music was the first that got to me and it remains some of the most important music in my life today.

One other new twist is Beck's explosive techno treatment of the Muddy Waters' blues classic "Rollin' and Tumblin'." The song features a stormy vocal from British singer Imogen Heap and represents one of the few times since the breakup of the second Jeff Beck group that the guitarist has featured a vocal on a song.
JEFF BECK calls his new CD, You Had It Coming (Epic), his first real solo record.
On previous CDs, Beck has always had at least one other musician serving as a key songwriting collaborator who was involved in writing the material from the ground up.

Jeff Martin launches his debut album, 'Still' in The Shelter on Friday 31 August with support from Dot Creek, Richie Egan (The Redneck Manifesto) and DJ Stephen Shannon.
While he is happy to doff his cap to Elliot Smith and Nick Drake as influences, Jeff Martin is loathe to wear the mantle of singer/songwriter.
The title track on Jeff Martin's debut album 'Still' opens with the line 'I can feel my whole world changing' - a relative understatement for a man immersed in obscurity and a full-time job six months ago.

Amused to Death Review in Miami Herald, Miami, Florida, U.S.A. It takes a lot more than the combined efforts of Jeff Beck, Don Henley, Rita Coolidge, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather to prop up this boring, bloated bauble from Pink Floyd's mastermind, Roger Waters.

In typical Waters fashion, Amused to Death is a concept album--this one organized loosely around the idea of a monkey randomly switching channels on a television--but explores numerous political and social themes, including a critique of the first Gulf War in which Waters has a choir sing the "global anthem" : "Can't you see?
