Whitley has no intention of quitting, especially not now, when so many important voices are going silent, and so much is happening all around us that requires the attention of those of us who seek hidden knowledge and enlightenment.
Like Jeff Rense (but unlike Art, who seems to have deliberately shied away from such overt speculation), Whitely was not loathe to openly call for a radical, sociopolitical analysis of what contact with the "Visitors" might mean for our present form of government.
Fortunately, we still have Jeff Rense on the air [for how long?], but the sudden silencing of these voices, right at the time that the mainstream media seems to be less and less inclined to question the "official version" of events does not bode well for our county.

Chris Whitley & Jeff Lang - Dislocation Blues - Review - Stylus Magazine
Whitley has always sounded haunted and haunting in equal measure, but his aspirant, resonant rasp has never been more eerie or otherworldly—and for good reason.
As on Reiter, Whitley is forced to curtail his vocal phrasing, but he paints with the new reluctant, whispery texture of his voice as instinctively as he patterns his singing on the slippery, provisional licks of his national guitar.
Whitley’s deep alienation has been at the core of his music since 1991’s Living With the Law, and if time has taken its toll on his voice, it has done little to reconcile the man; if anything, Whitley’s struggle has become more direct and more plaintive.
