Established in 1985, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is the result of a partnership of businesses and schools created to improve education in science, mathematics, and technology.
As the Governor's School for Science and Technology in Northern Virginia, the school is also supported by the Virginia Department of Education.
TJ is the number one school in America with the highest number, as well as the highest percentage, of its graduating class who are National Merit Semifinalists.
