Montgomery County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States.
In the county, the population was spread out with 24.70% under the age of 18, 9.70% from 18 to 24, 29.00% from 25 to 44, 22.90% from 45 to 64, and 13.70% who were 65 years of age or older.
Under Ohio law, any territory within a county that is not part of an incorporated municipality (city or village), is part of a township.

The subject of this sketch was born in Warren County, Ohio, July 29, 1810, and in 1819 his mother died, thus leaving him at a tender age without her loving counsel.
At the age of twenty-three, he came to Germantown, Montgomery County, Ohio, and obtained a situation in the dry goods store of J. Crist, and on December 30, 1838, was united in marriage with Maria L., daughter of the late John D. Gunckle, of Montgomery County, born April 9, 1817.
BENJAMIN B., teacher, Germantown, was born in Clinton County, Ohio, March 23, 1845, and is a son of David M. and Margaret Harlan, he a native of Kentucky and she of North Carolina, the former born in 1809, and the latter in 1815.

Henry Groby grew to manhood in Montgomery county from the age of six years, attended the public schools, and when of sufficient age served an apprenticeship of two years at the carpenter's trade with his uncle, David Groby, by whom he was afterward employed for eighteen years as a journeyman.
He then returned to Miami township and engaged in farming for two years, at the end of which time he entered the employ of Hoover and Gamble, in January, 1869, and remained with this firm until September, 1879, during the last five years of which period he was foreman of the flsmithing department.

The site was located in the northeast corner of Jefferson Township, approximately five miles west of the City of Dayton.
Three of these original journals are now kept at the Montgomery County Records Center and Archives in Dayton, Ohio.
Records from the Infirmary are currently held by the Wright State University Special Archives here in Dayton and the Dayton and Montgomery County Public Library, Main Branch.

Charles Hunter, a well-known farmer of Jefferson township, Montgomery county, Ohio, was born near Earlville, Berks county, Pa., October 26, 1838, a son of Jacob and Matilda (Boyer) Hunter, both natives of Berks county, Pa., and of English and German descent, respectively.
Jacob and Matilda Hunter, parents of Charles, came to Jefferson township about the year 1850, and here resided until 1861, when they removed to Mad River township, where the father died in 1862; the mother survived until 1880, when she expired at the home of her son Charles.
Hunter is a democrat, and has served several terms as trustee of Jefferson township, and also as superintendent of the county infirmary for two years.
