Meeks first argues that the circuit court was "clearly wrong to decide that [he] was competent to stand trial" because it "gave greatest weight to the most remote evidence"-the testimony of Scholle, Bucholtz, and Frey, who had not had contact with Meeks for years preceding their testimony at the competency hearing.
Meeks maintains that, by doing so, the judge "was essentially testifying about her prior observations of [him] in another case, at another time." While conceding that such evidence was "probably relevant," Meeks asserts that it was impermissible under Wis. Stat.
Meeks from that time, and that when she had spoken to him on the previous night, the night before the hearing, in jail, he had indicated to her that he was on medication, and so that she was aware of the fact that there were some mental health issues at that point.

Meeks maintains that there is no definitive guidance for Wisconsin courts on the issue of whether a former counsel's opinions, perceptions, or impressions relating to the mental competency of a prior client are protected by the attorney-client privilege.
Meeks contends that the majority's analysis, which emphasized that Scholle's responsibilities as an "officer of the court" superseded her duty to a former client, seriously eroded the basic privilege and ethical duties of attorneys to protect their confidential communications with clients.
Meeks argues that it "is impossible for an attorney to testify regarding her opinion of the client's fitness to stand trial without violating the attorney-client privilege." (Pet'r Br.

Meeks, Ronald G. v. West, Jr., Togo
Meeks appealed to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, which held that the 1970 claim remained pending, vacated the board’s 1991 decision, and remanded the case for readjudication.
Meeks again appealed to the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, arguing that because his 1970 claim remained pending, and a 100% rating was eventually awarded, he was entitled to 100% compensation from his date of discharge.
Specifically, Meeks argues that because he applied for benefits within a year of his discharge and the status of his claim remained pending until he reapplied and received a 100% rating, he is entitled to compensation for 100% disability from his date of discharge.

Judge denies second Iraq trip for Sgt. Hutchins' defense attorneys
Jeffrey Meeks ruled that attorneys for 22-year-old Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III had failed to demonstrate that the trip would help their client's case and that nothing in military law required the Marine Corps to provide the trip.
Meeks also said that because U.S. forces are no longer actively patrolling the area around where the killing took place in the village of Hamdania northwest of Baghdad that the trip was simply impractical.
Meeks also formalized an earlier preliminary ruling allow prosecutors to introduce incriminating statements made by Hutchins to investigators in Iraq shortly after the April 26 slaying of Awad.

Days of the New mastermind Travis Meeks recycles warmed-over grunge with pretendions to art-no electric guitars, orchestral interludes that resemble death marches and a Morrison-Cornell-Vedder baritone employed to scream about the pain of existence.
But here's the real problem: on Days' disappointing third album, Meeks is intense but never menacing, he rocks but never really catches fire.
Competent but uninspiring, Meeks sounds like a B-minus student at a rock-god school trying too hard to impress his teacher.

Because most XY females do not have Sry mutations, Joshua J. Meeks, Jeffrey Weiss, and J. Larry Jameson, M.D., of the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, hypothesized that other genes are necessary for testis determination.
