The series was produced by Thames Television for the ITV network in 1983.

Synopsis : Television investigative reporter Jemima Shore investigates the mysterious and treacherous goings-on at her old school, The Convent Of The Blessed Eleanor, and the deadly apparition that the students live in fear of - "The Black Nun".
A determined woman with an inquiring mind, Jemima would often become embroiled in criminal activities amidst the upper classes, and found that her professional and personal lives very often became intertwined as an investigation ran through its paces.
Certainly Antonia Fraser's novels featuring Jemima Shore (upon which the series was based) sold well as a result of the Thames series having been transmitted, so at any rate it made the party responsible for the character princely dividends.
