Jemtia Field Ranger Regiment, or Jämtlands fältjägarregemente, also I 5 or I 23, is a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traces its origins back to the 17th Century.
The regiment has its origin in the Angermannia, Medelpadia and Jemtia Regiment raised in 1646 in the newly conquered province Jemtia, although the men were mostly recruited in the old Swedish provinces Angermannia and Medelpadia.
Jemtia Field Ranger Regiment was garrisoned in Östersund and was given the designation I 23 (23rd Infantry Regiment) after a general order in 1816.

The regiment took part in most campaigns and wars until it was almost completely destroyed when marshing over the Norwegian mountains in 1718-1719, as 600 men froze to death and another 500 was seriously wounded or ill. It was renamed Jemtia Infantry Regiment in 1770 before gaining the present name in 1820.
