Topic: Jennet

  Wicked - washingtonpost.com
Jennet witnesses the entire ordeal and hears her aunt's defiant cries on the pyre.
Jennet's father finds most of the proceedings hysterical and unorthodox (though not for the reasons we do), but her brother falls in love with Abigail Williams, the instigator of that famous paranoid tragedy, and together they take over his father's work throughout New England.
Jennet, meanwhile, continues collecting evidence, studying the latest scientific treatises and trying to compose an argumentum grande so lucid, so convincing, so illuminating that it can finally demolish the witchcraft laws that sent more than half a million people to their deaths in Europe.

The Brood Jennet - donkeys and Mammoth Jackstock
Be sure when purchasing your jennet that you always have a prepurchase exam, not only a physical done but have a uterine biopsy and culture done to help make sure that she not only has no infections, but to help indicate if she can even get pregnant.
The potential is quite high for a jennet raised like this to reject her foal - she has learned no social skills to deal with motherhood and is understandably confused and frightened.
If you want a jennet to grow up to be a good mother - she needs to be well socialized and hopefully has been around other mothers and foals as she grows.

Strange Horizons Reviews: The Last Witchfinder by James Morrow, reviewed by Farah Mendlesohn
Jennet Stearne is the daughter of Walter Stearne, Witchfinder General for Mercia and East Anglia.
Jennet’s early philosophical experimentalism is still directed at confirming the classical world; she has not yet applied the lesson learned from Aunt Isobel that even scientific convention cannot be left unchallenged.
When Jennet escapes (rather reluctantly) from the Nimacooks, she establishes herself and her philosophy in Philadelphia; her marriage to a postmaster breaking down, she embarks on an affair with a young Ben Franklin, noted for his taste for older women and well-recorded radicalism in the arena of social mores (see his "Silence Dogood" letters).

After your jennet is bred, she should be ultrasounded at least once prior to 30 days to verify that she is not carrying twins.
Your jennet should be on a nutritionally sound diet, be current on vaccinations and be in a stress free and happy environment.
The jennet should have privacy for her foaling, she shouldn't have to deal with a crowd at this important time so try not to leave her to dump the foal out with the herd.

Inquisitive, 'kinetic' Jennet Stearne, daughter of militant Witchfinder Gen. Walter Stearne, witnesses this pursuit of 'Satanists' up close when her beloved maternal Aunt Isobel Mowbray, a philosopher and scientist, is put on trial and burned at the stake for her progressive ideas.
