Bradley, for her part, says she is proud of the message her election sends to people across the country.
Bradley's election to statewide office is not her only "first." At 28, she became the youngest, first female and first fl executive director of the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority in 1981.
Bradley says she is eager to start tackling new challenges at the Statehouse, and one of the biggest will be maintaining balance in her new life as lieutenant governor.

Much less was made of the fate of another fl Republican in Ohio, state Treasurer Jennette Bradley, who defied assumptions about the power of incumbency when she lost her primary to a virtual unknown, Ashtabula County Auditor Sandra O’Brien.
On the fundraising front, Bradley was squeezed by two separate Republican scandals: the state investment scandal that has entangled Taft and the sitting Republicans, and that of former Treasurer Joe Deters, whose fundraising practices contributed to the indictments of three of his close political allies and his departure from office just before Bradley took over.
Rather, he said, it was a race between two unknowns in which O’Brien received “a thin veneer” of extra support from conservatives, and Bradley received “a thin veneer” less because of her perceived ties to the tainted establishment.
