In 1889 Elder Christian J. Mortensen was banished from Denmark for preaching the gospel and finished his mission in England.
In Jan 1888, Jens Frederiksen was the superintendent, but as he emigrated to Utah later that year, there does not appear to have been a Sunday School in the branch for a few years thereafter.

I'll spare you all the details of the relationship here, except to say that Jens Nørgaard, as he was known in later life after he inherited his father's farm, is my Ancestor Number 18 and my PPM G2Gf.
Jens Sørensen Nørgaard and Marianne Pedersdatter are now alone and living on their respective farms of Nørgaard in Alsted parish and Hangaard in the neighboring parish of Galtrup.

In the south of the island of Fanø close to Esbjerg is Sønderho village.
The model is 70 cm long and 75 cm high and shows a two master with a ball at the front mast and the Danish flag "Dannebrog" at the stern of the ship.
The model was built by Jens Christian Christensen, who was born 1828 in Tornby.

In the 1920 Census of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Nellie (along with her mother, Mary, and sisters, Carmilla and Esther) are living at the Christian Home, an Orphanage in Council Bluffs.
It seems odd that her mother was a resident at the orphanage, also (NARA Microcopy T625, Roll 510, E.D. 145, Page 231B).
We are not sure who her father was (In the IOWA MARRIAGE INDEX 1851-1900 [online at Ancestry.com], there is listed the 30 November 1899 marriage of Jens Christian Jensen and Mary Christensen, in Boone County, Iowa.
