	Jeparit, Victoria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Jeparit (36°08′S 141°59′E), population 370, is situated on the Wimmera River in Western Victoria, Australia, 370 kilometres north west of Melbourne.
		Jeparit’s most famous son is former Australian Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies, who was born in the town in 1894.
		In the Finnish language, "jeparit" is a nickname for the police.

	Walkabout - Jeparit
		Jeparit's great claim to fame is that it is the birthplace of Sir Robert Menzies, prime minister of Australia from 1939-1941 and 1949-1966.
		The area which includes the Jeparit townsite was taken up by Robert von Stieglitz in 1846 while, just to the north, was 'Halbacutya', established in the same year by John Coppock.
		It was assumed to be the refuge of escapees from the POW camp at Langwarrin.

		At the age of four and a half, commences school at Jeparit.
		At right is a newspaper clipping from The Melbourne Age reporting a visit back to Jeparit by Mr Menzies in 1951 to dedicate the Jeparit cenotaph in commemoration of the 2nd World War.
		He is seated at his old desk at the Jeparit school, and beside him stands the son of his old teacher - the one who taught him the alphabet.

		It is true that this post has nothing to do with Abbotsford, except that while I was sitting in Horsham’s Cafe Bagdad a suspected Canadian climber was extolling the virtues of our suburb to his mate, but I went for a drive to Jeparit via Nhill, Dimboola, Mt Arapiles and Horsham.
		Jeparit is truly a wonderful country town, the birthplace of Menzies, and home of some really classic front garden art.

		Post 17 applies from the same Serviceton track but the track it takes you to is the diverging route so the blade is lower just like the home arrival at Parwan.
		The two left hand home signals apply from the Jeparit track and the situation is reversed, from the Jeparit track No.1 track is a diverging route so its blade (post 16) is lower, post 15 applies from the Jeparit track to No.2 track which is a straight route so its home signal is higher.
