Jeremy Spencer - Biography - AOL Music
Spencer was born in West Hartlepool, England on July 4, 1948; he started taking piano lessons at age nine, switched to guitar at 15 to emulate his rock & roll idols, and the following year discovered Elmore James, who became his chief influence.
Meanwhile, Spencer re-emerged in 1973 with a new album, Jeremy Spencer & the Children, on CBS; influenced by psychedelia and folk-rock, it was wholly devoted to Spencer's newfound faith.
As the millennium drew to a close, Spencer toured India three times (in 1995, 1998, and 2000), worked on material for an instrumental album, and remained an active member of the Family (as the Children of God were later called).

Jeremy Spencer and the Children - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jeremy Spencer and the Children is an album by British blues rock musician Jeremy Spencer, who was a member of Fleetwood Mac from 1967-71.
Released in 1972 (see 1972 in music), this is his second solo album although it was credited to "Jeremy Spencer and the Children", referring to his band made up of members of the Children of God organisation.
Although this was the first recording for which Spencer dropped his mimicry and parody of 1950s music and Elmore James blues tunes, he nevertheless continued to show his talent for drawing inspiration from other styles of music.

Spencer's rare solo debut is almost something of a 1970 Fleetwood Mac album that happens to feature Jeremy Spencer as lead vocalist and principal songwriter, since he's backed by Fleetwood Mac's own Danny Kirwan, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood.
