  Jerry Vlasak Biography
PCRM has denied that Vlasak was speaking on its behalf, but the event’s program described him as Jerry Vlasak, “Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.” Vlasak has also written for PCRM’s member magazine, and was called a “PCRM spokesperson” in a February 2002 PCRM press release.
Vlasak and his wife, the former child actress Pamelyn Ferdin, are both directors of a militant “direct action” Los Angeles group called the Animal Defense League (ADL-LA).
Vlasak has personally been arrested several times for animal-rights-related activity, and urges others to “get arrested.” His most recent brush with the law came in 2005, as he and nine other crew members of the radical Sea Shepherd Conservation Society were taken into custody for attempting to interfere with the Canadian seal hunt.

  Jerry Factor
Vlasak has earned the exile status of "former" for his controversial public defense of violence as a legitimate tactic for the animal rights/liberation movement to use against those who exploit animals for profit or "research." He is also a former visitor to the UK.
Mainly, Vlasak is laying out an imaginary scenario where he speculates that were someone to kill a certain number of vivisectors, it would in fact have a positive benefit for animals, as it would intimidate many actual vivisectors into ending their experiments on animals while driving numerous potential vivisectors into other lines of research.
Vlasak’s critics within the animal rights movement can carp about the negative image of animal rights they believe he is creating, but he has also garnered copious worldwide media attention and the unprecedented opportunity to educate various publics about the horrors of vivisection and seal massacres.

Animal Crackers: Jerry Vlasak: An Un-useful Idiot
What Dr. Vlasak was saying was that he was concerned that there would be violence directed against researchers, and that's turned around to say he's advocating it.
Vlasak has been barred entry from the United Kingdom, after he told a 2003 conference in the U.S. that he supports assassination of animal researchers as a means of stopping animal-based research.
But in bestowing his vote of confidence on Dr. Vlasak, Skipper Paul was either willfully and terminally incurious about assessing for himself the accuracy of the charges, or was deliberately lying when he reversed the thrust of the story to reflect positively on Dr. Vlasak.

In a 2004 cable television appearance, Vlasak said, "If someone is killing, on a regular basis, thousands of animals, and if that person can only be stopped in one way by the use of violence, then it is certainly a morally justifiable solution." When speaking of violence, Vlasak is referring specifically to murder.
Although Vlasak's defenders are quick to explain that he was speaking only in hypothetical terms and was not in fact advocating murder, his assertion that the assassination of a few vivisectors would save the lives of millions of animals can reasonably be interpreted as a call for violence.
The SSCS was founded by eco-terrorist Paul Watson, who, like Vlasak, has made a number of statements in support of violence, including, "There's nothing wrong with being a terrorist, as long as you win." Notably, Vlasak was ousted from the SSCS Board due to his comments regarding the murder of vivisectors.

Dr. Vlasak, formerly of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, was questioned by a reporter last year and stated that in his personal opinion violence in defense of innocent seals being clubbed to death is morally justifiable if the seal killers would not stop any other way.
Vlasak also had to pay his own way to turn himself in, but he said such was the least he could do for the seals - since he has been banned from the ice floes for three years.
Vlasak states, “I have always believed that there has got to be a year-round campaign against this seal slaughter - not just once a year during the actual kill, with the million-dollar multi-nationals suddenly moving on to other campaigns." Finally, HSUS has come up with the idea of a worldwide boycott of Canadian seafood.

Our colleagues in the UK have set an example for all of us with their focused campaigns like those against HLS, Cambridge and Oxford University primate labs and Newchurch Guinea Pig breeders; they simply live these campaigns and refuse to waiver until the torture and killing of animals is stopped.
