Stearn walked to the podium looking like a bedraggled homeless person with loose fitting shoes, baggy khakis and rumpled shirt protesting being tucked into his pants.
Stearn was a believer in miracles, and his innocence in supreme goodness in human nature taught me what that trip was all about.
Jess Stearn died of heart failure at the age of 87 on March 27, 2002, at his home in Malibu.

Stearn wrote over 30 books on the occult, most notably his acclaimed biographies of reincarnation advocate Edgar Cayce - 'The Sleeping Prophet: The Life and Work of Edgar Cayce' (1968) and 'A Prophet in His Own Country: The Story of the Young Edgar Cayce' (1974).
