They quit touring in 1975, and broke up soon afterward, each going their separate ways, Cleaves going on to sing with Earth, Wind and Fire for a number of years.
Often overlooked during their own time, the music of the Friends has been rediscovered, with "Going in Circles" having been covered by The Gap Band and Luther Vandross, and "Love or Let Me Be Lonely" by Paul Davis.

The lineup White unveiled with Last Days and Time was working out beautifully; Bailey was clearly proving to be a major asset.
Also worth noting is the presence of singer Jessica Cleaves, who left after this album and, several years later, resurfaced in George Clinton's eccentric female group the Brides of Funkenstein.
EWF still had what was basically a cult following, but that was beginning to change with Head to the Sky.

RC: This first volume in the Family Series of unreleased P.Funk tracks that Clinton got the rights to has a number of significant and interesting tracks.
The problem is that GC put on very little material that was pre-1979 or so, so we end up with a ton of Brides, Jessica Cleaves, and Parlet outtakes that sound too much like disco or sappy ballads for my taste.
The pre-79 tunes that we do get are all usually spectacular, or at least interesting.

The last two tracks, "Clover" and "Zanzibar" incoporate funk, rock, african and latin rhythms into spacious instrumental jams that would become absent from their later records and appear only onstage.
