The continuing scholarship is expected to support one journalism student at Ithaca College, from which Miss Savitch graduated in 1968, according to her sister, Lori.
Miss Savitch and a friend, Martin Fischbein, drowned when their car went off a towpath and fell into the Delaware Canal in New Hope, Pa. A memorial service is set in New York at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Fifth Avenue and 53d Street.
