Tsing Hua signed a memorandum of understanding this year with the Hsinchu County Magistrate Cheng Yung-Chin for the donation of a prime plot of land in Jhudong, between 30 and 50 hectares, for use as a second campus.
Because of the plans to make neighboring Jhubei a national center of research activity for biotech, a second campus in Jhudong would be a vital part of Tsing Hua's roadmap for the next twenty years.
MOE approval for the Jhudong campus awaits resolution of the I-Lan branch campus issue, but we have been assured that the MOE regards a second campus with greater favor than a branch campus (which carries separate staffing needs).

Under the aegis of the Directorate-General Information Society (DGIS) of the European Commission and Taiwan's National Science Council (NSC), the 2005 Euro-Taiwan Information Technology Cooperation Event was held April 28 at the Grand Hotel in Taipei and April 29 at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Jhudong Township, Hsinchu County.
The purpose of the two-day activity was to bring together Taiwanese and European academic and research institutions and companies interested in cooperating to develop information and communication technologies (ICT).
In the commission's view, in other words, the public, private and educational sectors of every country have no choice but to reach out and develop wide-ranging networks of strategic partnerships all over the world.

The Mount Le road, 13 km, through coniferous forest, with gaps affording fine views of the Holy Ridge Trail and the Jhudong basin with Mount Wujhih.
The trail goes first through planted conifers, then natural, very varied, broadleaved forest.
