When we were in Baishan city—also one of the three Chinese cities closest to North Korea—Ilearned local people were just crazy about kicking Jianzi too.

Posted @ 4/26/2006 2:49 PM Well, actually 'Jianxi' means the 'game of Jianzi' (which I didn't realize until I did a little googling), where 'Jianzi' is the name commonly used to refer to the skill toy you were talking about.
So, to make it clear, Jianzi is the toy, and Jianxi is the game.
