Jim, I realise you have personal issues related to alcohol, but you have to realise that marijuanna has a totally different effect on you in comparison to alcohol, marijuanna users who drive are more careful when impaired, alcohol users are loose cannons.
Jim Anderton can win his electoral seat as much as he likes, and sure enuf he can have as much of say in politics as he wants.

As I watch Jim Anderton scrap with yet another set of followers, I can't help recalling the comments of the late Cardinal Delargey to a group of Labour politicians in the early 1970s while we were waiting to board our plane.
Noting that Anderton had rejoined Labour after a bust up in 1967, and was now standing for the Auckland mayoralty, Delargey cautioned us: when Anderton had worked for the Catholic Church he showed an uncanny knack of putting the hierarchy in the position where they had to choose between Anderton or the Pope.
Anderton's Alliance followers, like all his political devotees over the years, have been forced in the end to make similar choices.

Another reason for the Anderton grouping maintaining the fiction of being Alliance MPs is that it will preserve their access to the Alliance's funding, speaking rights in parliament and select committee representation.
Anderton then provocatively proposed that the Alliance constitution be set aside and that the 30-member national council resign to be replaced by a committee of seven which would include a majority of MPs.
Anderton says there is a difference over whether or not the Alliance should participate collaboratively in a coalition government with the Labour Party.

We have received an email message from Sam Fisher (Office of Hon Jim Anderton) and have also been telephoned by John Pagani (Press Officer) with respect to the following listing in the Peace vigils, rallies and meetings listings we circulated this morning.
It has been asserted that this is a gross misrepresentation of Jim's position, that the listing is defamatory, and we have been told to apologise and withdraw our comments unreservedly before the time of the meeting tonight.
We are not aware of any announcement by Jim Anderton since the bombing started that he no longer supports that motion.
