Jim Colclough, who was considered a fierce competitor on the football field and a compassionate man off it, died Sunday of complications from hepatitis C at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Colclough still remains among the top five in team history for receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and average yards per reception.
Colclough leaves his wife, Sally; five sons, Michael of Weymouth, Steven of Whitman, Sean of San Diego, and William and Patrick, both of Naples, Fla.; three brothers, William of Quincy, Jack of Brockton, and Thomas of Holbrook; and six grandchildren.

Jim Colclough, an original member of the Boston Patriots and one of the top receivers in franchise history, has died.
The Hamel, Wickens and Troupe Funeral Home in Quincy, Mass., confirmed that Colclough, 68, died Sunday night of complications from hepatitis C. In his nine seasons in the American Football League, all with the Patriots, Colclough had 283 receptions, seventh in team history, for 5,001 yards and 39 touchdowns in 126 games.
Colclough, who died at Massachusetts General Hospital, is survived by his wife and five children.
