Harrell, a member of the Economic Development Committee in the State House of Representatives, stated that he is pursuing every possible lead to provide jobs for this area of the state and that the emphasis is on businesses that use the unique resources of the mountain region.
Harrell further said that the legislature is working hard on a fair redistricting plan that should be completed this year and added that the legislative districts for the State House and State Senate are now in the process of being redrawn for the 2004 election.
Harrell commented that one of his interests is seeing that all North Carolina residents have access to adequate health care especially those living in the mountain region of the state.

I'm not an expert on this subject, just an Illinois citizen who is concerned about the lack of protection of mentally ill people who are trying to cope by themselves and have social and criminal problems because of their illnesses.
