James Allen "Jim" Hightower (born January 11, 1943) is a well-known populist (An advocate of democratic principles) activist (A militant reformer) and a former Texas (The second largest state; located in southwestern United States on the Gulf of Mexico) Agricultural Commissioner.
His first run for office was for the Democratic nomination for the Texas Railroad Commission (which regulates the oil (A slippery or viscous liquid or liquefiable substance not miscible with water) industry), which he lost.
Hightower was elected Agricultural Commissioner in 1983, serving in that capacity to 1991.

One would think that advances in reducing pollution would be applauded, but instead Hightower refers to the genetically modified animals as the Frankenpig, which is every bit an silly emotional reaction as is the 'Enviropig' label which is the trademark under which the GM pig will be sold (assuming it ever becomes commercially viable).
