Kiick, who played fullback for the Steelers for two seasons, died on Thursday, March 21 in Pompton Plains, N.J. He was 84.
Once Kiick was discharged from the service, he returned to the Steelers in time for part of the 1945 NFL season.
Drafted on the third round of the 1940 NFL Draft out of Bucknell, Kiick was 6-feet and played at 198 pounds, but the war had taken a toll, and since professional football was nowhere near as lucrative then as now, he left the game after the 1945 season.
