Former Government Minister Jim McDaid gets a lot of attention in the Irish Sunday Newspapers, following the disclosure during the past week that he had been driving his motor car while drunk.
The Sunday Tribune says in relation to forcing McDaid to resign as a TD or applying another serious sanction, that it's time "to have a proper debate on the subject." It is a serious issue but why restrict sanctions beyond the law, to only politicians?
Whether it gets its money's worth in the ratings remains to be seen -- and things look less than promising -- but CBS will have another go at it next Sunday with Part 1 of its "Elvis" miniseries.
