McKean, who has three wins in his past nine PIR starts, took the checkered flag again Thursday in the Cruise America 125, crossing the finish line as darkness was beginning to descend over a race that was marred by a yellow flag on the first lap and a red one on the 115th.
McKean, the 2002 series winner and last year's victor here, said his crew told him about halfway through to ease up on using so much gas.
McKean also had a flat - but not until he had won the race and was pulling into Victory Lane.

Longtime major-league umpire Jim McKean was elected Thursday to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
McKean, a St. Petersburg resident the past 23 years, is a Montreal native who spent 28 seasons as a big-league umpire.
McKean, 58, will be inducted on June 26 along with former Expos star Andre Dawson and former team executives Peter Hardy and J.J. Lannin.

Jim Clark reviewed several emails he has received from Karen Martin including: Joel Hersh and the SART new address and email, June 17-19 Large animal Rescue Training in York County, and a June 13 Haz Mat Training in Meadville.
Jim passed out a copy of a Governor’s Proclamation that all emergency personnel in the state receive training on the National Incident management system.
Jim also shared what he had learned in researching a class on dog safety that he shared with 162 4th graders in Potter County in May. The SART is organizing future trainings and we need to participate.

Lisa Henson, the daughter of Jim Henson of "Sesame Street" fame and a co-owner of her late-father's company, is hoping "Mirrormask" will have the same lasting qualities.
On Wednesday, Henson, Gaiman and McKean were still anxiously awaiting their first Sundance screening but they had shown the film to high schoolers in Salt Lake City.
McKean and Gaiman have also collaborated on several award-winning children's books and a series of comics, which are widely available.

McKean explained that "the bulk of the film" involves "a computer-generated city and characters" in another realm.
Among the creatures McKean designed for the film is what Gaiman calls "a griffin who poses riddles badly" and giants who speak with exasperating slowness (whom Gaiman imitated vocally, in yet another example of his untapped potential for being an animation voice actor).
But McKean thinks that this strategy will prove to be "the wave of the future." He wants there to be a new era of "imaginative films, fantastical films" done with "manageable budgets" using "desktop solutions," coming up with CGI effects that "look cool" but would be inexpensive to create.

McKean, a native of Montreal, Quebec, is a 1966 graduate of Concordia University, Montreal.
Three other people will be inducted with McKean during the June ceremony at St. Mary’s, Ontario; Andre Dawson, an eight-time MLB All-Star player, Peter Hardy, a former executive with the Toronto Blue Jays, and J.J. Lannin, a former executive with the Boston Red Sox.

McKean joined the Major League Baseball staff in 2002 as an Umpire Supervisor.
As a young man he played quarterback for the Saskatchewan team in the Canadian Football League (winning Rookie of the Year in 1963 and the Grey Cup in 1966), coached college basketball, refereed Canadian junior hockey and was a championship racquetball player.

McKean admitted that he was aware of his obligation to file an IRS Form 8300, since this was a transaction in which he received more than $10,000 in currency, but knowingly and willfully failed to do so.
