One of the leaders in the Jesus Movement of the late 1960s and 1970s, pastor an evangelist, James Michael "Jim" Palosaari, a second generation Finn, was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and grew up on a goat farm near Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Palosaari spent his early adult years in the Chicago theater, and eventually became a Christian through the late '60's Jesus movement in Seattle with his future wife, Susan Cowper, daughter of LA County's Health Department's Herbert H. Cowper M.D. Together, they helped form Linda Meissner's Jesus People Army and were discipled by her.
Jim and his wife Susan went on to start a number of communes, including Jesus People Milwaukee, which dispersed to become "Christ is the Answer" under Bill Lowrey, and JPUSA in Chicago under Dawn and John Herrin, and Jesus People Europe.

In Europe, Jim re-formed the Sheep, which eventually became the back-up band for their rock musical, stories made from testamonies of the original group, "Lonesome Stone," financed by UK millionaire, Kenneth Frampton.
Back in the United States, the Palosaaris formed a second commune in BC, Canada, calling it the "Highway Missionaries," which traveled around North America evangelizing, calling the church to repentance, and living communaly.
Three years into this new community, the Palosaari's suffered a vital blow to their family and ministry when their eight year old son, Seth Highland Palosaari, died in an automobile accident with two other members of the community.

Jim's concern for discipleship of new street Christians, who were often very enthusiastic but not very Biblically-literate, led to the establishment of The Jesus People Milwaukee Discipleship School.
Jim's group, The Jesus Family, included the band Sheep and about thirty of the older members of JPM.

Evelyn Palosaari of Chassell Township, a board member of Copper Country Farm Bureau, said many farmers see deer as a pest.
Many of the farmers in the U.P. are dairy farmers, and they grow alfalfa to feed their cows, but a reduction in the alfalfa crop because of deer has caused a drop in milk production, according to Palosaari.
Jim Vandamme, a dairy and potato producer in Delta and Marquette counties, regards deer as a serious threat.

The name change from "Charity" to "Resurrection Band" occurred because Jim Palosaari felt that the original name implied JP Milwaukee was "looking for a handout." Jim refused to advertise the band in Street Level until they changed their name; thus the switch to "Resurrection." Of such things, rock'n'roll history is made.
It was the season theatre director, Jim Palosaari, brought his hippy troupe of actors, musicians and dancers from the United States to perform their 'Jesus Rock Musical, Lonesome Stone' at the capital's premier rock and roll venue, The Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park.
