Jim Pankiw - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pankiw was raised by his father George in Unity, Saskatchewan, his mother having died when he was very young.
In his announcement that he was going to run as an independent candidate in the riding, Pankiw responded to a reporter's question that he had no intention of living in the riding even if he won, as his current residence is in Saskatoon, where he has lived for many years.
Although Pankiw has not accepted any such invitation and moreover has never publicly endorsed western separatism, some people believe that at the very least he privately sympathises with the separatist cause.

Pankiw also wrote in his response to the complaint that his opinions derived from government publications already in the public domain and did not discriminate or harass.
