Sensenbrenner has pushed for building a 700-mile fence along the Mexican border and increasing border security, while tightening enforcement of current laws and stiffening penalties against business owners who employ illegal immigrants.
Kennedy is running against Sensenbrenner in the Nov. 7 election after losing in 2004, with the congressman receiving 70.61 percent of the vote.
