In the Manitoba provincial election of 1969 Walding was a candidate for the NDP in the south-central Winnipeg riding of St.
Walding was challenged for the St. Vital NDP nomination in 1986, but retained his position by a single vote.

Walding visited with a distillery representative who may be interested in working with the division tracking profitability for the distiller and the division in a test market.
Jim Kuhlman, Lynn Walding and two of the field investigators are meeting with the beer wholesalers on April 10th to discuss tax collection from brewers rather than from wholesalers.
Walding commented that he has heard from rural legislators urging caution on restrictions that keep minors off the licensed premises, especially in small towns where the bar is the only restaurant in town.

Walding recently discussed a bill with Representative Davitt that was introduced this session allowing a distillery to distill and sell on property, pay no tax or license fees and be subjected to no regulation.
Walding commented it is particularly troublesome when alcohol, unfamiliarity with the potential of alcoholism and new driving skills are mixed.

The work was among many 1960s posters in the private collection of Jim Keays, lead singer of Masters Apprentices.
Walding said various attempts were made to locate the original artist but they were fruitless, and because the Masters Apprentices had commissioned the work, he felt justified in publishing the poster in the book with the group's consent.
Walding said he was assured by Australia Post that there would be no legal ramifications from releasing the poster as a stamp.
