In the Xia and Shang Dynasty, Jiujiang belongs to Jingzhou and Yangzhou.
Jiujiang was located in the west territory of the Wu Kingdom and the east of the ChuKingdom during the Spring and Autumn Periods, so it was called "the head of the Wu Kingdom and the tail of the ChuKingdom".
From the east of Jiujiang to the west is 270km, and from the south of Jiujiang to the north is 140km, it covers an area of 18.8 thousand square km, and occupies 11.3% of the total of Jiangxi Province, the total population of Jiujiang is 4.662 million with 600,000 urban residents.
