IPA: /ʒu.'ɐ.nɐ/) was a Portuguese Princess daughter of King Edward of Portugal and his wife Leonor of Aragon.
She was born in the Quinta do Monte Olivete, Almada on March 31, 1439, six months after the death of his father.
In 1455 she married Henry IV of Castile and years later had a daughter named also Joan, called La Beltraneja because of rumours that she was in fact daughter of Don Beltrán de la Cueva.

This was actually a trip to Portugal and Spain, a different part of Spain than I had been to before.
A long two hour drive amid Portuguese' worst along the Southern coast of Portugal took us through many small towns, and finally to Cape St. Vincent with its great lighthouse perched on the rugged cliffs 250 feet above the sea.
Very dramatic, it was, and exciting to see the places the seafarers of history launched on their quest West.
